Best answer: Minecraft Dungeons breaks Mojang’s tradition of bringing Minecraft to mobile, with the release being kept to gaming consoles and PC’s. Dungeons, with its upgraded graphics, complex playing mechanics, and busy HUD, just isn’t a good fit for small mobile devices, so it didn’t make sense to make the jump. That doesn’t stop Dungeons from being available on all of your other favorite gaming platforms, however.
Play wherever you want, as long as it’s not on your phone
Minecraft Dungeons is Mojang’s and Microsoft’s effort to expand Minecraft into a proper franchise, and the brilliant mixture of Minecraft and Diablo-like gameplay has captured our hearts and made us yearn for more. Even better, despite Mojang now being a first-party studio under the Xbox Game Studios banner, Microsoft is continuing Minecraft’s legacy as a truly platform-agnostic game, with releases on Xbox One, Windows, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It’ll even be available from Xbox Game Pass day one!
While it’s not available for purchase from Nintendo’s or Sony’s storefronts yet, Mojang confirmed on its website that the game will be launching on Switch and Playstation 4 on May 26, 2020 like everywhere else. If you’re playing on Xbox One or Windows, you can buy the game right now, and be ready to go when it’s officially out. You can also renew your Xbox Game Pass subscription, since the game will be available there on launch day, and can even be pre-installed.

Minecraft grows up and reaches out.
Minecraft Dungeons is the next saga in Minecraft’s story, and it looks like Mojang and Microsoft are hitting another one out of the park. Minecraft Dungeons combines the familiar world we all grew up on with an injection of Diablo, a whole lot of fun. Available on every platform you’re on, for a ridiculously tempting price, what’s not to love?
