In a podcast hosted by Reggie Fils-Aime, he interviews head of Xbox Phil Spencer about a bunch of things, including the Xbox Series X launch. Full episode can be found here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6ZFIHK0x3om04LFYWHc4F9?si=5mJxKBFnTZWEOs637uNWyA
Phil Spencer: “In our supply chain, we feel good about the hardware side. Feels like we’ll be able to get enough units. And you know, we’re pretty committed, as we’ve talked about to a worldwide launch, which regretfully, we didn’t do with Xbox One. You remember watching that from Nintendo campus. It took us months and months to hit some of the incredibly important markets and worldwide launch is important to us. Software in the platform side is making good progress. Games are making progress.
Other things include Phil’s thoughts on what he thinks makes Series X special. When asked what he thinks people have yet to appreciate, he says it’s the fluidity in gameplay Series X offers. And really, people can only understand that once they’ve experienced it. Also discussed is how Phil is leading Xbox during COVID-19.
Microsoft will also be donating a Phil Spencer-signed Xbox Series X as part of a charity auction to help raise funds for homeless students in New York. No details yet on when that will go live, but likely sometime this week. Keep an eye on Reggie, Phil, or Harold’s Twitter.
