New burr grinder – does this look like a coarse grind to you? Eager to get opinions & recommendations! : Coffee
Hi, all I bought an Espressione “professional conical burr grinder” model 5198 and I’m not sure what to think of it. I have a French Press so I want a coarse grind; however, the final result doesn’t look coarse to me and when I sift if with a fine sifter (see att’d), I get a *lot* of fines sifting through – and by a “lot” I mean about 60% of the result. Does this seem reasonable? If you look at the pictures, does the result in the sifter look like a “coarse grind” to you? Does it look like a “consistent-sized” grind to you? If not, I would very much appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction for a suitable replacement grinder, and/or what my expectations of these devices should be. Thanks!!
